Giving Thanks For Your Customers

As the year winds down, and we enter the holiday season, now is a great time to remind your customers how much you appreciate them with a card, email, gift, or all of the above. Messaging with themes of “Thankful for You,” “Happy Holidays,” or “Wishing You a Happy New Year” are great for spreading some holiday cheer. If you haven’t already, there’s still time to plan those end-of-the-year campaigns, but you’ll need to hurry (and check USPS’s holiday shipping deadlines).

Card

A mailed postcard or greeting card is always a great option, especially since companies oftentimes display the cards they receive during the holidays. To keep with your branding and messaging, create your own piece. Postcards are effective and efficient with the address printed directly on each mailer. For a customized postcard design, you can spend $500-$1,200, depending on your designer and the level of customization. To print and send 500 postcards, it will likely cost you $400-$500, depending on the size of your postcard and how you decide to ship them (First Class Commercial or Marketing Mail).

If you’re feeling DIY, go to Canva or Minted and use a template to design your own card. You can then choose to print your creation through the site or download the file and take it to a local print shop. If creating your own mailer isn’t in the cards this year, no worries. You can always buy pre-designed pieces and include a handwritten note to add a personalized touch.

Gift

You might also opt to give your customers a gift or memento this holiday season. Starting with a gift for all: a holiday discount or special offer. For something more material, there are many options from baked goods or chocolates to beautiful gift baskets to a more high-ticket item for VIP customers and clients. Your budget is your own. Choosing something that’s from a local business is always a plus in our book and hand-delivering those tokens of appreciation is even better. Using branded wrapping paper or a branded gift tag is the perfect finishing touch.

Email

An accessible and affordable medium for all: email. All businesses can send a heartfelt thanks this holiday to their customers’ inboxes. To level up the aesthetics, use an email marketing platform such as MailChimp or Constant Contact. To really personalize things, segment your audience based on their location, the services or products they purchased, the amount they’ve spent at your business, etc. and customize the messaging for each segment.

Conclusion

Before you rush out to plan your show of appreciation, always make sure that whatever you choose is on-brand for your business and reflective of your customers. If you need help this holiday season or with planning next year’s campaigns, please let us know! We’re all elf ears.

Wishing you a happy holiday season!
